SoulKeeper's SAGC Results

Well guys, SK has returned from the SAGC not with a win, but a very good experience and sportsmanship... :) We went head to head against FiveStones Squad during the SAGC qualifying.
I think we only win the best sportsmanship and equipment award... Haha!! But nonetheless, we will recruit new players for competitions.

The funniest thing is, every single team in SAGC has two snipers, but only we SK have only one. Will I think the whole part of the SAGC to us, is to train and have the experience to head for another match. We started SB two days before the SAGC, and well, once again....planning is very important for the team.

Thanks to Hobbit, Suee, XeroZ, Blazing Pearl, VampirePrince, ShadowSlayer for being a wonderful team. Staying over at my house just to train. :) I want to also thank them for their commitment.

Finally, :) We lost to FiveStones 4 - 8.

Catering for SK Training

Hi all, to TheFall3n, ShadowSlayer, VampirePrince, Hobbit, BlazingPearl.

The Essentials....

Hi all SK members and SAGC participants. This are the hardwares you will need for the training or in what ever SA game you are training or playing at.

- Mouse with DPI not less than 1600dpi.
- earphones / headphones to position your enemy correctly (footsteps) They are a huge advantage.
- Good mouse mat, for precision and speed.

For training at my house, We will be having 4 desktop, and probably 3 laptops. With only two sets of headphones. :) It will help if you guys can bring some earphones too :)

Hi all SoulKeeper members, I have just talked to our uniform sponsor. Right now we have 28 people in the SoulKeeper team. Our sponsor is willing to reduce our uniform cost. For one shirt, will be RM18 per person, without the cost deduction will be RM35 per shirt. Minimum order of 30 pieces of shirt. This shirt is special because, the SoulKeeper logo will be sewn on to the shirt, its not printing but embroidery.

Asiasoft will be holding SAGC (Sudden Attack Grand Championship) with qualifying rounds starting in Nov - Dec. (tune in often for more details!)

SuddenAttack Asiasoft Ambassador Finals

Its 2am in the morning, and guess what...? 4 SoulKeeper members attended the Ambassador finals in Coco Banana Club in Sunway Pyramid. We went there for a specific reason, to get free gifts!! But... we got more than what we bargained for. Suee won 1st placing in the lucky draw, and won herself a X& gaming mouse. Jared on the other hand, won one of the stage games and got himself a RAZER Control Mouse Mat!! Is that awesome or what!! Me on the other hand got tons of posters, file holders, SA mini lanyards and phone bags. :) Will be announcing the next event soon to be held :)

Messed Up

As everyone knows, the SoulKeeper's First Battle have been called off. The reason is, members are suddenly pulling out from the match. I also canceled the match because I didn't really state the participating rules. Here are the rules....

Rules :

1. If ever a member decides withdraw their participant-ship from the competition, his/her results will be removed permanently from every match. Including being disconnected from server. Its you job to make sure you shut off MSN Messenger, and any other downloading programs that limits your bandwidth usage.

2. Never attempt to change the final dates of the competition. We are getting sponsored, so we cant afford to change just because you have a date.... Put afford to join the match if you really want to. I would be very happy to keep all the prizes to myself if no one wants them!! Example, if a player has a date on the competition day, he/she will not be taking part.

3. The maximum players allowed in the game is 16 players. 8 on each side, meaning blue and red. Empty slots are on a first come, first serve basis. Late players will be on Que and will be able to enter the match if a registered player pulls out from the match.

4. The competition date chosen is final and will not be brought forward.

5. Players, please plan your time carefully, not to make plans during the SoulKeeper's Competition. Doing so will definitely make my life, Abel's and SueXian's life easier to live....as in planning the match.

6. Players are advised to purchase one day items for the full match. For example, estimated 5000 points for, one day sniper, one day primary weapon, one day knife/pistol

Lastly, I just want to add, members, please check the blog and reply to post if required. Give me your feedback and ideas, it really does help in planning. Thanks...

The Right Equipment PT2

Mouse DPI

This is part two of my advice on hardwares for gaming. This post will be about gaming mouse precision and gaming surfaces. Some of you might be thinking.... hmm.... dpi dpi whats the fuss about dpi? Well.... some say dpi i just making your mouse more sensitive? Well this is my thought, the higher the dpi, the more accurate your mouse. Just imagine, a one inch box with 5600 dots and a one inch box with only 800 dots. And imagine... your head is in the on one of the many dots. How many dots will be on your head compared to the second box?

DPI makes you mouse more accurate and precise. The movement of the mouse will be smoother compared to the 800dpi mouse. DPI just means precision. Higher DPI means greater precision/smoothness for your mouse movement. For example, in lay-man's terms, with a higher DPI mouse, you have a better chance of landing the pointer on a pixel you want vs. a mouse with lower DPI (correct me if I'm wrong)
You can bump up the sensitivity for average mouses (mice?), but you will lose the precision. You will lose precision for a higher DPI mouse as well. Meaning!! Nicer headshots!! :D

Gaming Surfaces

As you see above, we have the smoother surface and the rough textured surface. The smooth surface is called the speed surface, it helps you navigate the mouse a ultimate speeds if you are a speed player. The second picture is from a control surface. Its kinda rough and helps you control the mouse very well. It adds friction to the mouse feets. Control surface is good for snipers!! :D For me, the control surface works fine. :) The gaming surfaces are weaved from thread and provides optimum precision for the invincible lazer on your gaming mouse. Not optical with the red light, but lazer mouse. Lazer rebounds from the surface more smoothly and precise instead of a table or any normal mouse pad.

The Right Equipment PT1

Hello SoulKeeper's!! Today's post is about the right gaming equipment. Well, many people experience lag from mouse, and well, mouse is one of the most important equipment in many games. For example, a mouse which respond at 8ms and a mouse which respond at 1ms. This two figures make a huge difference. For snipers and headhunters, 1ms can kill your opponent comparing a 8ms or a 2ms response time mouse. If your opponent is using a 1ms response time mouse and you are on a 8ms response time mouse, you are likely to lose a sniper face to face shoot out.


We have mouse that deliver signals fast and some mouse that delivers signals slow to the computer. The signals are measured in Hz, this is called the polling rate. It is actually the number of times reports sent from the mouse to the computer to be processed every second. The faster the signal is send, the faster your shots are released. Thus reducing mouse lag. To continue the equipment topic, RAZER is one of the world top gaming products producer. I am using a Diamondback, Deathadder and Mamba gaming mouse. All of them produce different feel and performance.

Above here, we have the Deathadder configuration panel. Its the software provided for you to fully utilize the mouse. You will be able to store different game profiles of sensitivity and buttons functions for different games. Look closely and you will see the polling rate and the dpi.

Here we have the configuration panel for the Mamba and the Reclusa Gaming Keyboard, powered by RAZER. On the Mamba configuration panel, you will be able to see the same thing, the polling rate, sensitivity controls and the sensitivity stages. The Mamba is able to change sensitivity on the fly when you are in the middle of a game. It has dedicated switching buttons which are more efficient then the Deathadder. I will soon be covering on the Accuracy, Gaming Mousepads and the Response time in part 2.

Polling Rate
It's the number of times the mouse sends reports to the computer every second.
Over USB it's normally 125Hz i.e. 125 times a second. Which means that there's a lag of 1/125th of a second or 8ms between the mouse and the system.

Razer's Polling Rate
Razer's mice sports higher polling rates of 500Hz or more. 500Hz would mean a 2ms lag - an obvious advantage in gaming.


RAZER Diamondback : RM180 (recommended for beginners)
RAZER Deathadder : RM200 (mainstream users)
RAZER Mamba : RM450 (enthusiast users)

Tips to get better.

These are just some random tips will help you get better, use it please.

1. Know the HEAD LINE. When you turn a corner and suddenly an enemy is in your face, the one whose crosshair is at head level will win, because it only takes one bullet to kill.

2. Use your ears. Footsteps make sound. Different surfaces have different sound. Different volume at different distances. There is even a jump sound, and switching weapon and reloading sound. Use your ears.

3. Use the SHIFT key. Basically it makes all movement silent and is a counter to step 2.

4. Use your radar. Know where your teammates are, and you will know where the fights are, and you can figure out where the enemy is.
